Sole Treadmill Reviews

Sole F80 TreadmillSole Fitness is a very famous name when it comes to indoor fitness equipment. Although they have other fitness equipment too like ellipticals, bikes etc, it is for their treadmills that they are most well known for.

Sole is actually not a new company. They have more than 20 yrs experience in making treadmills and supply some of the leading hotel chains in the world with treadmills for their “In Room Fitness” programs. This meant that they had to develop portable, light weight, yet sturdy, reliable and long lasting treadmills. These machines also had to look nice as it should not seem out of place in a hotel environment.

They have brought out the same line of treadmills for the home user too, and have gained a very good reputation for quality, performance and reliability.

Sole Fitness does not operate in the low cost band of the price spectrum. Their cheapest option still costs over $900, but if you take a look at their machines, there is no question about value for money. All their machines are robust, and are built to last.

Even their folding models are very stable, and there is absolutely no worries about it’s stability. The folding models are what their hotel partners use, and the fact that they are still partners is just proof of the quality of their product.

Sole Treadmill Range

Sole has a total of 7 treadmills in their line.

  • Sole F63
  • Sole F65
  • Sole F80
  • Sole F83
  • Sole F85
  • Sole TT8 (non folding)
  • Sole S77 (non folding)

Out of these five are folding models while two are not. A short review of each of these models is given below.

The Sole F63 treadmill is their cheapest model but at $999 it is hardly cheap. Yet as a good machine that will last you a lifetime this machine is very hard to beat. If you want to know more, you can check out the review of the F63 on this site.

The next in line is the Sole F65. This model is a slightly bigger and more powerful model, but at $1300 is just not worth it. Not that this machine is not good. On the contrary it is very good, but with the F80 costing only $200 more you would really have to be pressed for finance to go with the F65.

The F80 treadmill is their most popular model. This is because it comes with a 60 inch long belt, a bigger display, a more powerful motor, a better cushioning system, and basically gives you more than the $200 difference between the F65. You also get a longer and better warranty. A complete review can be found here.

The Sole F83 and Sole F85 are both based on the very good F80. The difference would be in that you get a more powerful motor, a bigger display, extra programs etc. at $1800 and $2000 they are definitely not on the cheap side, but just as in any sole equipment, if you got one because you needed one, you will never be disappointed. You can get an in depth review of both models here.

Their two fixed models are the Sole S77 and Sole TT8. The S77 is a very good model, costs only $1900, gives you everything that the F80 gives but with the extra features like the heart rate programs, but with a 2” wider belt. This two inches may not sound like much when you read about it, but when you’re running, the difference is very apparent. If you have the space in your home and you want the bigger running surface there is nothing that can come close to the S77.

The TT8 is their highest end version. It is just a jazzed up S77, but if you are into these things then you can do worse than going for the TT8. It costs you $2300, but gives you comparable performance to the machines you find in the gym and those cost upwards of $5000. Search this site for and in-depth review.

About Sole Fitness

Sole may not have the same appeal that some of the other more upmarket brands have, but if all you are interested in is a really solid machine that does its job day in and day out without complaint, the Sole is for you. Their customer service is one of the best in the industry, and even those customers who had complaints about something in their machines will have to agree that their customer service is very prompt, and good.

Although they may not be the cheapest, they are very good value for money, giving you decades of use, meaning that the per year cost of using a sole is probably lesser than even cheaper models. The fact that Hilton has used only Sole treadmills for their In Room Fitness is testimony to the quality of their product, over years.
